Don't really give a damn since only a few really shine (solo).
Realized 99.9% of Eve either doesn't want to fight or only fights when they have an insanely superior advantage.
Wormhole content turned out to be a group thing. Even if only going for PvP, still pretty much require two accounts.
Dropped second account months ago when I realized I had enough money to fund PvP losses for two years or more.
Dropped subscription when I realized that I might as well burn up the billions I have in some way. Currently purchasing the PLEX cards while I continue changing skills.
But I don't really care what I'm training anymore. Nothing shines.
Old friends long ago moved on.
Don't enjoy carebearing. Won't mine. Did my missions long ago. Sick of trading. Won't play 0.0 alliance drama games. Can't stand the prattle and chest-beating of young people.
Don't like fighting PvE-fit ships or ganking haulers at gates.
Won't alter my schedule (which is hectic; married, kids, house, business owner, home improvement projects, etc.) for any alliance or corporation. Games serve me... not the other way around.
Will NOT train caps. Disliked them in 2006. Dislike them now.
Solo fighting seems to net only newer players as opponents as everyone in Eve races to get in the biggest ship in the biggest blob they can find.
Too much spreadsheet, not enough immersion.
I'm still looking at the same awful nebula backgrounds as I have throughout my whole Eve career.
I don't care about ISK. Never did. I don't care about killmails. Never did. I don't care about 'owning space'. Never did. I don't care about chest-beating over a victory. Never did. I don't care about winning. I don't care about losing.
I hate FC'ing. I hate being guilt-tripped into FC'ing.
So my Rifter kills a Taranis? Big deal. I had two webs and baited him into warping to zero. He never stood a chance. There is little skill to combat. Setup, setup, setup. That's what counts. Along with numbers.
Eve has some amazing features. It will probably be known as one of those landmark games in the genre. But it continually loses ground with me.
Was fun at first.
So... what's left?
WOW!!! That was intense.
Yes, eventually your reach a ceiling in EVE. CCP needs some fresh ideas.

And no you cant have my stuff
But isn't the end game to conquer the EVE universe...or is that even possible given present game mechanics?

Maybe the EVe universe is getting too small...
a bigger universe maybe?

Originally by: Cerebus Alteri one thing ccp does is look to expand eve rather than release eve 2, plus they do it for free rather than charge for every major expansion like some other mmos *cough* wow *cough*.
yes it take ccp ages in development years after they announce some concept or major change.
i think ambulation will spice things up, it certainly will add a level of immersion when you can actually get out of your ship and do other stuff then sit in your hanger and play spin the ship, if your bored with fw or missions, or yarring, or mining.
i will be anxious to see how amulation plays out and what activities you can do. cards and other games i am hoping and no role playing drunk or neked dance marathons in the station foyer.
and in the future...well 3 to 5 years from now. fighting on planet surfaces with mechas or tanks or air combat will be epic no matter what way they go with it. hope they release more details on their plans for this feature even if it is subject to major changes by the time it actually gets to being coded.
if your bored take a break, keep your stuff you can check the forums and lest read whats happening. maybe come back when they get the bugs worked out of ambulation and see if that helps the game for you or just take a nice long break period.
after all it is summertime get out do stuff and eve will always be waiting when you get the itch to see whats new.
well said.
Why is it though that I see alot of fist fights coming out of ambulation?

I entirely agree with the op. There seems to be a lack of direction and multitude of unfinished ideas from CCP as well. The whole Jove plot abandoned, the lack of counters for certain pvp mechanics. Blob warfare out of control.
I think this game suffers from a desertion of elder players selling their characters off to new, undeveloped individuals.
I for one am looking forward to Jumpgate: Evolution coming out in June. I also have had fun going back to X3 and games like Total War. This game is not about teamwork, its about an elite class getting the middle class (high sp, sheeplike people) to do their bidding so the elite class can keep the resources they hold dear. This usually happens at the expense of the lower class, new or pve only players. All under the guise of "eve is harsh, dont like it? go play wow"
We have truly lost what makes eve special I think, its nothing more than a cross between WOW and Counter Strike.
I agree. I'm a noob....was a noob anyway, I quit. But when looking into the future to see where I could go with this game...I saw none for the very reasons you stated. The final straw was seeing that even the contracts where against me (spam of scams) and CCP did not see fit to fix it because it's not broken to them. The final word was --adapt or die--. So I left.
I do hope EVE becomes a better game someday.
Im looking forward to KOTOR MMO. Hope it's worth the wait.

I never heard of it so I went to the site to check it out. Looks interesting.
Here's the wiki.
It sounds just like EVE...so come this summer, EVE may have some competition coming.

I find the lack of CCP participation in these kinds of threads disturbing. It gives the impression of indifference.
It's like the rule to not post GM correspondence. What's that all about?

It would then be easy to compare responses from GMs and find inconsistencies.
Inconsistencies in EVE? Never! {Sarcasm}
So not even the GMs are on the same page huh?

Originally by: Spurty oh gosh, are we going to make the game die due to what people say being inconsistent?
If only that worked in real life, we'd have zero politicians!
This isn't real life..it's a game, hence a very controllable environment.
Real life isn't controllable. EVE is an escape from real life...not simulation of it...so I thought.

Originally by: Learol I tend to just do whatever I can find thatĘs is fun, can barely afford the ammo for my guns but id rather look for fun/abstract ways of getting round that problem than isk grinding in any way shape or form.
point is you donĘt have to force everyone into your way of thinking to enjoy yourself in eve, (only a few) and there are thousands of ways to use the mechanics in ways CCP never thought of
I thought the same way, but I found low sec a barrier going at it alone, and I couldn't find reliable play mates.
